St. Peters Window

St. Peter’s Church is a diverse parish family of over 400 members, located in the suburban "hometown" community of Plant City, Florida.  It is part of the Diocese of Southwest Florida. St. Peter's goal is to provide a meaningful place to worship God, opportunities to grow in the knowledge of Christ, and to share his redeeming love with each other, our community and the world. We hope you will take time to learn about us and join us.

We are located at the edge of the historic district of Plant City, Florida. We have the distinction of being one of the oldest public buildings in the city, and the oldest church building still being used by its original congregation. The "Carpenter Gothic" architecture gives a sense of our history of tradition and worship. The church is cross-shaped, a traditional Episcopal church design.

St Peter’s has a very active church community. There are a variety of worship opportunities throughout the week. We have two services on Sunday morning, a healing service on Wednesdays at noon and Compline is prayed after the Wonderful Wednesday community meals.

Our congregation also enjoys many social activities as well. The Family Fall Festival, usually held the first Sunday of December, is an exciting occasion for the entire church family. The Easter Champagne Breakfast is also a wonderful and unique way to celebrate Easter. We begin our feast by gathering in joy and lifting a toast to our Risen Lord. Men’s Cook-outs, Women’s Socials, the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Summer BBQs are just a few of the other ways our community stays connected and engaged with each other as the Body of Christ.

We have a very vibrant, active and growing Youth Group known as SPY (for St. Peter's Youth). Many of the families of SPY members have become active in our church because of this important ministry. SPY is also actively reaching out to the youth in our area with concerts and other events.

Music is an important part of the life of St. Peter's. In addition to our adult choir, the St Mark’s children's choir regularly participates in worship services, as well as engages in an annual summer music camp. There are several special musical worship services throughout the year including a Lessons and Carols Advent service, the beautiful Christmas Eve Prelude of Music followed by the Midnight Mass, and various concerts throughout the year.

There are many ways Christ is working at St. Peter's. Please take time to browse our website and learn more about us. Don’t forget to sign our guest book and let us know you were here; and please come join us at any of the many wonderful gatherings. We hope to see you soon!
