St. Peter's Episcopal Church is a
diverse parish family of over 400 members, located in the suburban "hometown" community of Plant City, Florida. It is part of the Diocese of Southwest Florida.
St. Peter's goal is to provide a meaningful place to worship God, opportunities to grow in the knowledge of Christ, and to share his redeeming love with each other, our community and the world. We hope you will take time to learn about us and join us.
St. Peter's Episcopal Church is
located at the edge of the historic district of Plant City, Florida. It
has the distinction of being the oldest public building in the city. The
"Carpenter Gothic" architecture gives a sense of its history of tradition
and worship. The church is cross-shaped, a traditional Episcopal
church design.
St. Peter's has a very active church
community. There are a variety of worship opportunities throughout the
week. We have two services on Sunday mornings. There is a healing service
on Wednesday's at noon. Compline is celebrated after the Wonderful
Wednesday community meals.
Our congregation also enjoys many
social activities as well. The Family Fall Festival, usually held at the
end of October, is a joyous occassion for the entire church family. Men's
Cook-outs, Ladies Socials, Mardi Gras and Summer Barbeques are just a few
of the ways parishoners can meet and grow in their fellowship with Christ.
We have a very vibrant, active and growing Youth Group know
as SPY (for St. Peter's Youth). Many of the families of SPY members have
become active in our church because of this important ministry. SPY is
also actively reaching out to the youth in our area with concerts and
other events.
Music is an important part of the life of St. Peter's. In
addition to our St. Jude's adult choir, the Angelus bell choir and the
Celebration children's choirs participate in worship services. There are
several special musical worship services throught the year including a
Lessons and Chorals Advent service.
That is just a short overview of the
many ways Christ is working at St. Peter's. Please take time of browse
around our website and learn more about us. Please sign our guest book and
let us know you were here. And please come join us at any of the many
wonderful gatherings we offer. See you soon!
