Outreach

The members of St. Peter's parish care not only for the church and each other; we also care for the local and global community.

The past few years has seen a resurgence in St Peter’s tradition of seeking to help others. We take very seriously St Teresa of Avila’s words, “Christ has not body on earth now but yours.

Outreach efforts include a major involvement in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life by sponsoring a team and hosting a golf tournament; raising in excess of $10,000.

We collect and assemble goods for Thanksgiving baskets for the underprivileged. These provide a full meal for those who cannot afford to celebrate this beloved feast.

Christmas baskets for those visited by Meals on Wheels are another important outreach. These baskets are greatly anticipated because each includes a handmade lap-quilt.

St Peter’s has adopted Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, our neighborhood school, collecting clothes for a clothing swap and providing dinners for the school’s ongoing fund raising goals.

We are supporters of African Team Ministry, and United Thank Offering, both of which provide important improvements in missions worldwide.

We are active contributors to the United Food Bank in Plant City, collecting nonperishable food items, personal hygiene goods such as toothpaste and even gleaning 100 lbs of fresh blueberries before a local farmer ended his season.
